The big event of the week was Leap into Chocolate for Leap Day!. Friends rented the Masonic Lodge in Howell and the creative cooks and bakers donated foodstuffs to the gathering.

Amazingly, I remembered to take photos with people in them, not just food. I frustrate myself and fear that I may be more interested in food than people. To be sure I do not do well in crowds and I should have brought my knitting inside with me. Instead I ate lots of stuff not good for me (but oh so delicious), read fanfic, and listened to quite a few conversations.
Sunday I ran billing, then went to Laura's for my replacement yoga lesson (since she had to cancel last Wednesday). Then it was off to get my hair cut, buy groceries, eat something for dinner (steamed broccoli covered with spaghetti sauce), and then spend an hour on my exercise bike. Oh, and run two loads of laundry. I was exhausted by the time we got to work on Monday.
Last night I watched the day's episode of Dr. Phil, which was about bail reform. I was not happy to see that most of the people in the audience were against bail reform at the end of the program, particularly since the main two people on the pro-reform side did a great job in explaining that (a) bail does not keep anyone safe and (b) the difference in those who can afford bail and those who don't get is not their dangerousness but their access to money. I was particularly annoyed by Dog Chapman appearing as one of the speakers. I don't think saying "Don't steal, get a job" is at all helpful when poverty combined with a lack of job opportunity is the real problem. (This is not to say that I think people who commit crimes should just go free. I'm all in favor of jailing folks who are likely to be a danger to others.
In Mom news, she has lost her voice *again.* She's been losing her voice and feeling congested for over a month and she's tired of it. Other than that, she seems to be doing well. In KC news, she started her second round of chemotherapy yesterday. I texted her this morning but haven't heard anything back.
